4 Things you might not have known about your Cell Phone

For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)

There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival.

Check out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST   (Emergency)
The Emergency Number worldwide for   Mobile   is 112. If you find yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
SECOND   (Hidden  Battery    Power)
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.
THIRD   (How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone? )
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone:
  *#06# .
A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.

And Finally....
FOURTH   (Free Directory Service for Cells)
/DIV>
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial:
(800) FREE411   or (800) 373-3411
without incurring any charge at all.  Program this into your cell phone now.
This is sponsored by McDonalds.
This is the kind of information people don't mind receiving,
so pass it on to your family and friends.

13 March at Samarinda-Mini Van

Yesterday we reached at Samarinda nearly 10pm after took late dinner. I immediate "collapse" after bath because too tired.

This is one of the mini-van used to take passenger. Hardly we can see bus in the Samarinda city. This van called "Kijang" and no door at the extrance. This type of transport is much cheaper than using taxi. I was told the rate is around IDR10K-20K depend on the travel distance. However, the mini-van only travel around the city. It only can take about 5 passengers and move slowly in the town. Quite enjoy even I did not try it.

Wajarkah sekolahkan anak seawal usia 5 tahun?

Awal Disember tahun lalu anak saya Danish Lai dah start sekolah. Awal sebulan dia sekolah untuk program smart reader. Mula-mula dia oklah..balik sekolah menyanyi, menari lagu yang cikgu ajar. Bila start awal januari yang betul2 punya sesi sekolah dia dah start meragam. Setiap pagi bangun menangis…sampai naik bingung saya dibuatnya.

Baru sebulan sekolah dah banyak cerita. Nasiblah CNY ni dpt cuti seminggu…Dapatlah sejuk sikit hati dia tu.

Pernah juga saya tanya kenapa tak nak sekolah…katanya cikgu asyik ajar ABC je n kira 1 sampai 20. Oh…barulah saya faham…saya mula mengajar dia membaca n mengira sedari awal. Mungkin dia boring kena ulang semula benda yang dia dah buat masa umur 3 tahun.

Saya pun tak tau mcm mana nk ‘handle’ masalah ini. Nak berhentikan sekolah risau pulak dia tak berkawan kat rumah. Nak biarkan dia terus ke sekolah takut dia tension pulak…yang mana satulah pilihanku…pening2.

Kata kawan2 saya, dia pernah alami apa yg saya alami..langkah terbaik berhentikan saja. Bila umur 6 tahun nanti barulah sekolah semua. Alahai anak mama….

Kalau tak percaya silalah cuba….Ia takkan merugikan kita!

2) Insurans…ada byklah…bleh pilih Great Eastern, Takaful, Etiqa…….
3) Skim SSPN…serendah RM20 sebulan….rasanya masih ok ni…ASTRO sebulan termasuk gst dah nk RM60/bulan kot.

Tepuk dada tanyalah selera…beringat sedari muda.

JIJIKNYA tengok sampah sarap bertaburan..

Persekitaran hidup berjiran ni banyak cabarannya…kenapalah dibiarkan sampah sarap dikirai2 dek kucing n anjing.

Kan sedap mata memandang andai kita jaga persekitaran masing2. Andai ada plastik masuk longkang tolonglah kutip. Biarlah air lalu dengan baik. Jgn dibiarkan plastik menuju ke sungai. Pencemaran nanti. Silap2 boleh kena denggi dan dapat banjir pulak. Cuba selami mcm mana keadaan mereka yang dilanda banjir baru2 ni. Sungguh pilu n kasihan.

Marilah kita sesama mendidik anak buang sampah dalam tong sampah. Walaupun sekecil plastik gula2 n sebesar cawan ais kacang. Majlis Bandaraya pun kenalah ambik sama tanggungjawab. Alahai…berat mata memandang, x sanggup nak diteruskan.

EMAS! EMAS! EMAS!

Sekarang sana sini orang cakap pasal emas……emas jongkonglah, kijang emaslah, buku emaslah dan tak ketinggalan kedai emas n pajak gadai emas. Senario emas yang turun harga sekarang ni, betul2 bikin kecoh.

Saya ada gak tanya2 kat kedai emas…tentang harga emas n jongkong emas. Seronok kalau pegi kedai emas ni silau2 mata dibuatnya. Jgn mata tukar kaler kuning sudahlah ye..

Harga Jongkong Emas 999 sekarang RM 160/gram. Harganye pun murah sikit..Kalau anda pun suka bolehlah pegi tanya kat maybank.

Pokok pangkalnya nak melabur kena selidik dulu.

Knowledge learning vs. controlling

This is a discussion with my brother-in-laws regarding the failure of our local graduate in looking for job opportunity. The past 2 months, the were many convocation for local and private universities and I do not how many thousand of graduates will sit in the house to look for job. Is this our education system failure? I still remember in my time, there are only 6 universities in Malaysia such as UM, UPM, UKM, USM, UUM & UTM. The opportunity to get a seat in local university was very tough even you had good result in academic especially for those people applied university with SPM result. For the instant, total graduate during year 1998 at UTM was around 3 thousands only compare with now with multiple of universities either local or private. Those day, you are able to get a career before you graduate because they know the quality of the student.

Sad to say that now university or college looks like a manufacture to produce huge quantum of graduates and the student are suffering due to inefficiency in communication and latest knowledge in the market.

No doubt that graduate has been thoroughly tested by university or college before issue a scroll to them but most of them are proud and cease learning in their life. They expect they are able to earn a living with their knowledge in university. I agree that we learn a lot of subjects and some even get dean certificate for all the semesters. The question raise in this issue is how many of us how to utilise the knowledge we have been learned for 4-5 years in university.

In school even until university, we are trained to study hard and pass the exam. We seldom be taught how to use the info or knowledge when we are in the real market. Eventually the government realized the over supply graduate problem and create an idea of in agriculture business which we can heard now like mushroom, catfish and all sort of business regarding agricultural. I am a planter and I know agriculture a great business which has a huge market. Usually, those with agriculture business are rich in oversea but no in Malaysia where government attempt to correct the path of agricultural business.

I coded an example. Catfish business is quiet famous at the moment and they are many people jump into this business. Conceptually people involve in business because of the income but without a proper knowledge and controlling then business will be a lot of loopholes. In business or education, we need to change our mindset that there is no shortcut to success. Failure is an improvement and motivation subject in our life. Never feel sad or down because of failure. The message of failure is telling that there are still have a gap to improve and perform better. My summary is control and know what you learn rather than just blindly score full marks.

How clever are you?

Below are four ( 4 ) questions and a bonus question. You have to answer them instantly. You can't take your time, answer all of them immediately. OK? Let's find out just how clever you really are.....Ready? GO!!!

First Question :You are participating in a race. You overtake the second person. What position are you in?

Answer : If you answered that you are first, then you are absolutely wrong! If you overtake the second person and you take his place, you are second!Try not to screw up next time. Now answer the second question, but don't take as much time as you took for the first question, OK?
Second Question:I f you overtake the last person, then you are...? (scroll down)

Answer : If you answered that you are second to last, then you are wrong again Tell me, how can you overtake the LAST person? You're not very good at this, are you?
Third Question :Very tricky arithmetic! Note: This must be done in your head only. Do NOT use paper and pencil or a calculator. Try it.

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 ... Now add 30 . Add another1000 . Now add 20 . Now add another 1000 . Now add 10 . What is the total? Did you get 5000 ? The correct answer is actually 4100 . If you don't believe it, check it with a calculator! Today is definitely not your day, is it? Maybe you'll get the last question right... Maybe..
Fourth Question : Mary's father has five daughters: 1. Nana, 2. Nene, 3. Nini, 4. Nono. What is the name of the fifth daughter?
Did you Answer Nunu? NO!Of course it isn't. Her name is Mary . Read the question again! Okay, now the bonus round:A mute person goes into a shop and wants to buy a toothbrush. By imitating the action of brushing his teeth he successfully expresses himself to the shopkeeper and the purchase is done. Next, a blind man comes into the shop who wants to buy a pair of sunglasses; how does HE indicate what he wants? He just has to open his mouth and ask... It's really very simple.
