One of my Australia’s friend is seeking an idea for his thesis. What is thesis? Thesis is an idea from a university student after study for the whole course. Normally, thesis carried out on the final year of the course. After we have learned the theory and practical during the course and we considered as a ‘master’ for a particular subject unless you are no doing well in the course.

Mentor

In the course, you have studied many subjects. Thus, you need to select a subject that you interested. After that, you need a lecture or mentor to guide you during the thesis. My advice is choice a person that he or she can support you if you face problem during the thesis. Bear in mind that you need to present the thesis and panel will ‘shoot’ you. So, ensure you have somebody that can protect you while you do the presentation. If the lecture you selected has a few students under him, you had better look for other lecture because I can tell you; he will have enough time for you.


Real project

Thesis usually is idea from a university student either you do in degree, master or Phd. Before you are able to get you certificate, university need to test you whether this student are able to face the real world. So, the best solution to get an idea for thesis is look for real project in outside of campus. I can say that there are many problems facing in outside there.


Timing

Please remember that data is vital in thesis project. Ensure that you have data before you propose the topic. Timing is important. If you fail in data collection then you have to postpone your thesis. Think twice before you propose the thesis topic.


Contribution

Please bear in mind that the thesis written by you will be recognized by University and if the idea is fantastic. University wills automatic offered you to continue your study until Phd because university needs contribution from knowledgeable student. Your website proposal was rejected maybe due to too general. “contribution” is main keyword in thesis.

Poor is the phrase that most people try to avoid especially in Malaysia. Nobody want to be in this category . Malaysia is going to celebrate it’s 50 years anniversary Independant day. But there are still many poor people around the country. Why this situation can be occured? Malaysia is a well developed country where free from war as happened in most of the nations.

Yesterday I read a article from a magazine regarding the PHD programme. Nowadays, employer seeks for high education background for promotion or holding high position in the company. Nowadays, master degree is a common certificate and there is no value for a diploma holder.

We can not deny that education is important but when come to a real work. We need experience and skill worker to carry out the duty. Theory and practical should be balanced out to ensure the work are able to run smoothly.

As a employer, training programme is vital to all the employees. A company can not growth if we work alone. Similar to our fingers, can we use one finger to type? The answer is yes but slow. Why we do not fully utilise the ten fingers as given by Him. Talent labour is an asset to a company. Instead of using 2 “un-skilled” workers to carry out a job, I prefer using a talent labour to work for me. Understand the work and function is important. Time is money, this phrase should always bear in mind. Cheap thing always give bad result.

Annual appraisal come to the picture. As an employer, we need to justify the quality of worker before any increment is given. We can not simply cease any person from develop himself because when one day he realise that he has been foolished or being used without appreciate him. Then he will be ignored and hurt. This incident happenned to one of my labour.

Marriage anniversary

Travelling is a normal routine work for a Land Surveyor. Today is middle of August 2007. For the past 2 weeks,I was fully occupied with work programme. My wife also start complaining that I always work on Saturday. What I can do. This is no due to customer request but pressure from Land Surveyor Department and Land Office. Last Monday,I was called to Land Office in Jasin, Melaka because of backlog work. Luckily, I have managed to submit the work on May 2007 and their data no update yet.

Yesterday was the second years anniversary of my marriage. Early in the morning after I reach my office, my handphone's reminder alerted me to wish my lovely wife and cause her prepared a great dinner for me. Thank you mummy. I felt thatI am a happy man in this world even full with job pressure and when I look at my family (my wife and Danish). They are able to "refresh" my mind. Yesterday night while Danish slept, we were discussed about this naughty boy. I told his mum :" Look,next time do not look for "nasty" man as husband then you will get this kind of "nasty" boy-Danish".

My wife told me that she did not like "good" man and she felt that "bad" man are more agreative and blave. I do not know whyshe selected me. I am a "good" man...........ok....continue later...have to solve the problematic software first. Happy anniversary my great mum.

Fear

I could not sleep well for the past few days because this “thing” has been disturbing my mind and subsequently to my work. It create an unhappinesss to my living style. It is an sensitive issue especially when we talk about religion. I think blog is the best way to express my problem and hopefully somebody can give me some guildline.

No doubt that believe to God is important because human is a created by Him. “We need to obey Him and love Him before He can able to love us” where my boss used to mention this sentences very regularly when he talk to me.

There are many religions in this world such as Islam, Buddha, christian, Hindu, and etc. All the religion has only one direction. Pray and obey to Him.

I really do not understand why people want to force or influence other people to believe one religion. We can not say Islam or Christian is a bad religion because religion never ask His follower to say like that.

Forcing people to get into a religion. What you can earn? If we do not like the religion, there is no point that particular person in that religion. Believe in God or religion is no a “Direct Selling” business. No people can give warrantly you can go to heaven if you are in that religion.

Please think....I do not hurt people because of religion matter and cause a break between the family. What is family? What is the meaning of happiness? Why we need to show off? Why we need to threated other? Look at ourselve. Are we perfect?

In a happiness family, we can have many religion such as Malaysia. There are many races such as Malay, chinese, india and etc and we still can live in peaceful. The secret is “respect people”.

I still remember my former Operation Director told me that “Lai, earn people respect before people respect you.”

Divided Stock

I reach home early after submitted the documents to Land Office. My wife told me that share market index has been toughing 1300 points as shown on TV. She asked me is it a good timing to enter this bull market?

I have been involved in Malaysia Share market since from year 2003 and I can not say I am expert in this field but here I would like to share some experience to my wife and those whom interested in share market.

I still remember in year 2003, the index during that period was around 600 points and market can be considered bear; no people did the trading due to scare. I was influent by my general manager and senior manager. They used to discuss share market while during quarterly visit and subsequently, I also “enter” the game. Initially, I start with small capital and invest some shares which have been discussed by my 2 bosses. I did not know whether there was rumor and tips. But I really made money from them. Perhaps I was luckily during that period. Money can be easily earned within 3-4 days and I gained a handsome income from share market even market was down.

Good time has their limit. Year 2005, I just realized that my entire shares are dropping and some even drop until 50% from the actual price. After that incident, I ceased for a while and monitor the market. I read a lot of financial books and magazines and hopefully, I can recover back. From the reading, I noticed that all the while, I am doing gambling and the term their used is trading. We can deny that share market is a place where trading is occurred daily and share market similar in a huge ocean. Person like me is a “small” fish where easily can be eaten by giant fish. Greedy the main keyword if you want make money from share market. Avoid greedy behavior, set the percentage before you enter and more important when to “escape” from tsunami (market drop).

Education in financial is vital after that bad investment. I can conclude that whether the market is bullish or bearish, we also can benefit a handsome income with a condition-Plan. If you do not have plan, I personally advise that please do not follow this slogan “I jump, you jump”.

Even market is bull, I still prefer divided stock where this stock able to generate steady income to you without having heart attach (this is no a joking. It happens). Please do not fall in love with you stock and always in mind that stock is a leverage to generate income for you. Thus, before you able to invest for a stock, please investigate the company. You must know what the company background, their cash flow and account statements. Share market is a gambling game. You need to read a lot of financial books and magazine rather just heard from rumor if you really want in share market.

The reason I bought divided stock because I can sleep well without worry the price drop or increase. Ok…Below are some good divided companies.

The Power of Words

This whole week I was in office for processing the survey data. Boss told me that he will do his retina operation on this Thursday but his sugar level in a bit high. Thus, I advised him to take a rest in house.

We still discussed some of the work progress before he took the rest. Suddenly, he mentioned about “The power of words”. He told me that we live in this world need a peace. If you are very rich but you do not have peace in mind. There is no meaning we as a human live in this world.

There is a slogan in Melaka recently. It sounds as this “My home, my paradise”.
This is a healthy slogan I even heard before. If you justified youself, you work hard from morning to everning. But when you step in the house, your wife start complaning this and that or your children fighting each other. Are you in the peace?

This is the message my boss pass to me. He told me that if you wife nag...nag...while you are sleeping. Can you fall in love with her again? Sure..no. I better look for other..(hahaaha..joking only). However, this is nitty-gritty. We form a family similar like a business. We as a husband need to work together with our wife. I really agree with him and if we do wrong. As a man, I think we should apology to her and subsequently this family will always in happiness.

However, the most vital message in that morning is “The power of word”. He quite concern about my danish health because this naughty boy quite often fewer and these fews days he also cough. He told me that as a father or a mother. We need to think before we talk to our baby especailly like danish. Baby like a “Scanner”, he observe what his mummy or pappy do and say. After that he will practise the same action. I agree with my boss. I realise that Danish observation is very sharp. Once we do something, he likes to follow. Thus, boss finalised the topic like this. If you told good word to your baby then hopefully one day he will be become a good man. If you always fight or nag among husband and wife then one day this baby also will follow this bad habit.

So, my dear blog friend........we should be gladful to god because He only give us a mouth for taking and eat. Are we fully understand the function of our mouth. I used to see parents quarrel and this form a bad impression to their children. This bad “seed” has been planted into their mind and during their growing duration. He maybe will be become a hot temper.

Back to slogan “My home, my paradise”. Are you home is a paradise? Please justified youself. Spend more time with your family and your work will be more effectiveness.
Let me tell you all when I reach in front of gate, my little danish know his papa is back and he will immediate go to the door for his papa hug. So, even though I am tired during the day but there is inner power to refresh me when I see this little raise his both hand for hug. So, form a health family rather than destroy it.

Sky Juice

Today if you ask for Sky Juice in Malaysia, you will easily be charged minimum 50 cents and some is worse will cost until 50 cents. A glass of pain water cost you 50 cents and I think you will prefer to other drink material even though cost more than one ringgit.

Recently, Malaysia government has been revised the government servant salary until 30% and subsequently, the businessman take this advantage to increase the price including the sky juice.

What is sky juice? This is no the water mineral and it is just boiled pipe water. How much a ton of gas? At the moment, the gas is around RM25 and the businessman can boil how many little of water by a ton of gas. But we as a consumer, is it faith to pay 50 cents per glass of water?

I do not know how about my blog oversee friends. Do you need to pay for sky juice over your country?

We need to voice out rather than just being take advantage by immoral businessman. Thus, I refer to eat in house rather than outside. First, I am able to have meal with my family. Secondly, the food cooked by my wife is 100% clean, fresh and important I able to add additional plate of rice…..because her food is delicious.

Similar to last Saturday, Andy and I stop at one of the shop for coconut drink. This businessman really slotted us. A glass of coconut cost RM1.00 and we are not able to taste even a small piece of coconut. So, do you think we will drop by in future?

Thus, a lot of businessmen fail to go further because of this small item. No because we stingy but is it worth for the price.

Danish fever again. I send this naughty boy to government clinic where this clinic is near to our house. After waiting for nearly an hour. You know what the doctor told his mum and me. Danish do not have fever. I really do not understand how come Danish do not have fever. I can feel the warm if my face near to him. The doctor ask me to buy thermometer to check Danish temperature before give him medicine. She told me that if the baby no in fever and take medicine. The baby may get poison.

Thus, on that afternoon after finish my work. I bought a forehead thermometer for danish. When I check the temperature with the forehead thermometer, it showed 40 degree....wah....I immediate call my mum regarding Danish situation. My mum also scare.

We decided to go private clinic to confirm Danish temperature. Very funny....The doctor also say Danish is OK. Danish.....danish.......are you really sick or just want to go out...?

Hong KOng Tourism Center

I was busy with my work in the office. As usual when there was a phone rang, I will answer the call. I used to answer by my company name before further the phone conversation. This lady asked me whether I can speak in Mandarin. I said yes because I through this customer can not speak in English. She introduced herself from Hong Kong Tourism Center and she would like to conduct a survey regarding Visit Malaysia year 2007. In fact, I want to tell her that I was no available at that moment but she kept in taking about her survey without giving me to respond. She started with her first question regarding which place would I visit in Malaysia. I answer with “Sorry, my dear. I am busy at the moment.”

She very annoyed with my respond and with in manner tone, she shouted at me by saying “If busy in future, don’t answer the phone.” Damn rude this Hong Kong Lady.

I felt very sad with this kind of survey being carried out by this Hong Kong Lady. Did she need to annoy if people did not respond to her. This is a deep impact to Hong Kong Tourism Center. This lady gave me a bad impression that Hong Kong people did not learn moral in school.

Respect people in important in what aspect especially if you are involved in tourism sector. How we are going to visit a country if the people there are rude and in manner?

Yesterday, there is a topic regarding tourism program in Malaysia in radio channel. There is a Chinese man said that he liked Korea very much and made him to visit the country every 2 years once. Why he visit the Korea too often and why he did not visit other countries? The answer he gave is simple. There is a pretty girl in front of you. Do you see? Definitely yes. But if this pretty girl like this Hong Kong lady, would you like to see again. You should answer this question.

Similar to Malaysia. This is Visit Malaysia year and every Malaysian plays a vital role to impress and promote Malaysia.

Smile and respect people are the main key word to success in tourism. No point government spent tones of fund to promote the program if the nation attitude is rude.

Scanner Epson Expression 1640 XL

Scanner is an important tool for those invloved in computer businness. I did a lot of works with scanner and camera digital. These both tools assist me in routine work.

Before I met her (my lovely wife) and I as an ex-planter always in mind that man must enjoy the life with girl, rock music, great food and everything that I can enjoy. I used to go to bar with friends and look for young “chick” but I still can not get the girl I wanted in my life. Until one day she appeared in front of my office. She is so pure and innocent if I compare with other girl I met before.

However, we have went through a tough time before we are able to marry because we are coming from difference world. In my culture, our old generation are very difficult to accept difference race as their family member. However, love is blind. When you have dream life partner, you need to be brave to accept her even through you face against from a lot of parties.

Similar to my blog friend, we owe our valentine (wife) too much. They made our life more meaningful and colorful and now with my naughty Danish. My life is fully occupied and no time to rest but to me this is a great life as wanted by me since I was a bachelor.

During traveled from Melaka to Ipoh, Perak. I read an article from The Edge titled as “Discover the 90/10 principle” and I realized that I was in fool and stressed out.

I had blamed my lovely wife of misuse her hand phone. She just called her relative for chit-chat and I simply blamed her. Am I stupid? Perhaps the whole week I a bit tired with field work and have a bad mood. I really felt sorry to her. I understand that take care of 5 months Danish is tough work and I really respected her the love she has given to Danish and papa.

When I finished read the article and thought back. It is a shameful attitude I had done to my lovely. Because a few ringgit, I blamed her for nothing. I really lost control and ruin the whole night sleep before I traveled to Ipoh.

Alarm

First month of year 2007 is nearly end and this is the busy month in my life. Busy of what? I busy of taking care of my little Danish. Yesterday night I tried to write a article for my blog. My little Danish start making noise and force me to cease. When I think back while I was a bachelor and no much commitment. There were plenty of time for me and sometime can feel boring especially come to weekend. But now after married and have a naughty Danish. I found time is limited for me. Now I can feel that set up a family is a tough job especially when you have a baby in your house.

Danish is our daily alarm without fail. He ensure that he will give the “morning call” to his papa and mama by “Wah…..wah….wah….”. This alarm can not be stopped unless a bottle of milk put into his mouth and the “alarm” will change to difference music as “suc….suc…suc…” This is the sound come out from Danish when he suck the milk. The best part is he able to close his eye and suck his milk. Normally after finish the milk, he will continue to sleep again. However, recently he start play around after finish his milk. He turn around and chit-chat in his “international language”. He like to talk especially at night day. He refuses to sleep until we off all the light.

I can see that his mum is really tired of taking care of this naughty Danish. But when you see he start smile to you, you will forget all the tiredness. This is the great of having a baby in a family. He change our life as papa and mama.

Love Him

“Why we live?” This is a question posted to me by my boss when he was down on last week. There are many people take for granted and ignore their responsible. Finally, innocent people is blamed for the delay.

When we grow older and older, our mind will start to think especially when we are frustrating. “Why we live?”, “Why we work hard?”, “Why we need to earn plenty of money?”, “Why we need to marry?” and too many question marks will appeal in our mind. It happen to a lot of professional people including to my boss.

To answer above doubt, I found the answer on yesterday night when I accompanied my wife to watch a drama. The drama was regarding a young University boy wanted to chase a beautiful girl in campus. He prayed to God that allowed him to get the girl without any obstacle. His lecture was disappointed with he action and advised him that we should pray to Him with sincerely without any purpose and same wording used by my boss. We must love Him before He able to love us.

According to the lecture in the drama, we pray to Him to ask for peace and subsequently our life will be in peace. Are you believe Him? Amin.

Goal…..Goal……Goal

This is no the soccer goal but is our life goal. We are just step in year 2007 and everybody should have their own ambition and objective for the year. Those still in blind and does not know what is happening. Never Mind. Ask yourself either you still want to enjoy “sleep” or “wake up”. Decision on you and nobody can stop you from “sleep”.

Why some people success in their life but you still struggling to earn money and normally these categories of group use to complaint the insufficient of government policies. Is the government fault?

The main reason is on You. You do not work hard enough on your goal or mostly people do not have their goal and just blindly work for the whole life. So, are you want to change your attitude towards success?

Goal is similar like a compass. It directs you to a correct direction. But how to set a goal? Good question. Last week, I received an email from Synergy Entire Sdn. Bhd. Regarding “Do you have your goals for FY 2007”. It is an informative article where it should share among our blogger.

According to the article, “the basic of setting goals give us short term and long term motivation and focus on the acquisition of required knowledge and help you to plan and organize your resources and your time so that you can get the best out of your life.”

There are 6 vital tips are given when we set our goal

1. Attitude plays a very big role in setting and achieving your goals
a. Ask yourself whether you want to be different from other people.
b. Always remember Malaysia Slogan “Malaysia Boleh”. There is nothing is impossible to be implemented.
c. Mindset change to human life.

2. Good time management practice
a. Be a master of time rather than become slave of time”.
b. This have been a nitty-gritty that people always get into this track.
c. A lot of people use to complaint than 24 hours does not enough to work, are you one of them? Time planning is important how far do you want to go into your business or career.
d. Look at the school children. They also have time table for their class. Learn from them.

3. Education is key in achieving your goals
a. Upgrade and develop your knowledge or skill regularly especially we are in the blog.
b. Learn as much as you can and never cease read habit.

4. Your family should never be left out of your plans
a. Family is a backbone of a successful businessman or woman. Give reasonable time for your family and respect to senior citizen where if you treat your parent well nowadays. Subsequently, your generation also will treat you well in future.
b. Personal tip: Married a knowledgeable life partner and do not marry because of SEX.

5. Personal financial situation
a. This is a realistic issue. Plan free of debt by planning your daily expenses. Ensure save 10% of your salary to accumulate wealth.

6. Determining your physical capabilities
a. Healthy means everything. Exercise regularly and eat healthy food to ensure you can work hard to earn money.
b. Do not forgive medical fee is increasing annually Please take precaution before you admitted to hospital.

I believe you have plenty goals to be achieved especially if you are blogger. But always review your plans and prepare for contingencies.

Saddam Hussein

Calendar 2006 ends up with The Death of ex-President of Iraq, Saddam Hussein. No doubt we can not deny that he has been murdered a lot of innocent people and he should be punished. But did Washington do the right punishment at right time? It happened on the important day for all the Muslim in the world where Muslim went for Hajj. The action has been annoyed by a lot of parties’ especially Muslim countries. Why Washington hang Saddam on this innocent day for Muslim? Are they want to show their egoism to others countries that they are the stronger in this world. I believe the situation will be getting worse especially the attached from terrorist. We always look for peace and anti-war. If everybody wants to show power, there is no end of the war.

He created us and subsequently one day He will destroy us if we still eager of power. Please think if you still have a clear mind.

My Little

Happy new year to you. This was a tough starting year for me. The first week of year 2007, my little Danish has been admitted to hospital due to diarrhea. Initial, we though it was a normal fewer when the baby shifted to new environment and we send him to normal clinic for treatment. This naughty boy re-act active when he saw people especially pretty nurse. He will try to move his hand and leg to show his ego. The doctor gave him quite a lot medicines. The problem was this intelligent guy did not like the medicine taste and he will vomited and cried. The way he cried liked somebody abused him. He very stubborn and vomited all the medicine caused the fewer and diarrhea getting worse. This little made his mum cried because he refused to take medicine and the milk. Finally, my mum advised me to sent this little to specialist for better treatment. The service provided by this specialist was tip-top. Every couple hours, the nurse and doctor will check Danish temperature and waste. They looked professional except we could not stand for the air-condition-too cold. After stayed for 2 nights, finally we were able to discharge Danish and his health condition also in stable. Even though the fee was expenses but we satisfied their treatment. As a parent, we could not concentrate for other job when your little suffer in sick. This is my little Danish. He created sadness, happiness, angriness and all soft of emotion to us. He make our life more colorful especially he cry……….cry………..cry….

Bad Day

This is the fourth day I shifted my Danish and his mum to Malacca. There are many things to be done including the house furniture. The worst part is Danish in fever after reach to new place. He vomited after took the medicine. We worried his health after saw the medicine came out form his nose. Luckily mother came and assisted me. After went for second clinic, Danish has been partially recovered on yesterday night and he start play with his mum by this morning. Unfortunately, his mum also sick and perhaps due to the tiredness of moving to new environment. Hence, I will temporary stop blogging until my family fully recovered.

Queue for gaming

“Buy me Big $120 small $10 for xxxx” This is part of the dialog from yesterday Singapore movie regarding lottery gaming. I believe that most of the people are involved in this “investment” games.

Apparently, lottery gaming can be grouped into legal and illegal gaming. Legal gaming is well protected by government. You do not need to worry police will catch you because government gain a lot from this sector. You need to pay tax once you win the prize. So, your money is well declared and you also can put as source of income in your income tax form. This is no the “black money”.

However, no all the number can be purchased especially the number is “hot”. I mean demanding number or lucky number where all the people are chasing for that particular number. So, the possibility to buy the number is low. The other alternative method is by illegal group. You can easily locate them in rural area. A lot of people do “investment” in here. The method of this illegal group runs their business very similar to direct sell system. They have their “well train” outlet or broker. They are smart in using technology as their leverage to communicate such as fax, internet, PDA and etc.

This illegal activities occurred every way, every moment especially there is football tournament either local or international level. Every game they are bet and the amount involved is not small. Police attempt to catch them but it like the story cat and rat. Never have end story.

Asia community treat lottery gaming as part of their life. 3 times per week and they never miss ever one game. I really respect their loyalty to their “investment”. We used to advice people to save 10% of your income but this smart group are using this 10% or more to “invest” in their future. The worst part some borrow money from loan sharp to buy lottery. The sad story I think I do not need to tell you here. You can image what can happen to their family.

Human always is the intelligent creature in this world. Some people use this gaming weakness as their business tool. You know what they create. Analysis the lottery number by using statistic software. Is it part of leverage? Ha…ha..ha..please comment.

Back to yesterday movie. These 3 Singaporean pals involved in illegal gaming and finally two of them were caught by enforcement. I do not know whether I shall greet them as businessman or not. You know what these 2 gentlemen did this the jail. They asked one of them friend to buy lottery on behalf of them. How they get the number? If I tell you, perhaps you also will laugh but it happen because I saw it on last weekend.

They pray to the tree, rock and whatever they think that the spiritual can give them lucky number. The worst part is pray to Malaysia boundary stone. What is happening to our people? Damn crazy.

Government used to advise to invest but people has wrong concept of the investment. None of us has take action to cease this immoral activity. It like drug because once you get in and you are found difficult to escape. Believe me. I also part of them previously.

Let me calculate for you. I take $1 per game @ 3 games per week @ 4 weeks per month @ 12 months per year. You know how much you spend? $144 per annual. This is just a $1 investment but I believe most of the people invest more $1. Am I right? How many times you will? Ask yourself.

The second secret I would like to share with you is do you notice that lottery share used to give high divided or bonus to their investor. You know where source of income is. I honestly tell you my dear lottery friend; the money is from your pocket money.

Wake up….wake up….my dear lottery friend. We still have a week to welcome New Year, so take this opportunity to review back what you have done for the past. Cease invest in this immoral game. Keep your hardship income for your family. Prevent before cute. Happy New Year 200 :)

Next week is Christmas and for those Christian family is rushing to shop for their last preparation.

Time goes very fast and we are in the end of year 2006. One of my blog friends http://ipoh_mari.blogspot.com wrote the article about achievement of the year 2006. Thus, I also would like to share my achievement with him.

I took my daily and review what I did for the part 11 months ago. I noticed that I had been traveled from South (Johor) to North (Perlis), North to East (Sarawak) and last back to my origin-Melaka. Travel for the whole year mainly to earn money. However, I still have some backlog projects still unable to settle where the expiry date is middle of year 2007 and there is one of my objectives for year 2007. After I left from Planter career, I always treat my present service as my business. Once I solved the problem, then I am sure that the income will channel to me subsequently but I need to work hard and gap the opportunity. Overall, I still can not see the profit where I have spent 2 years effort in my present business but I believe what I do at present is for my future and my next generation.

Work is important. Never forget your family. I spare about 10% of my time with my wife and I think this is not a quality time for her especially now I have my little Danish. Hence, I decided to shift them to Melaka on 1 January 2007. I wish they will happy to stay with me at the new environment where I choose for them.

The great achievement for the year 2006 is the gift of Danish by Him to my wife and me. We really appreciated Him. Danish change our life and it is something “promotion” to us as a new couple. Finally, we are promoted as papa and mama. Last week, we noticed that the little Danish are able to call “mama” when he is hungry. I think this is the first word wanted to hear by a female call mama. Is it wonderful? You also will cry when yours little start to greet you as mama or papa.

I still remember Danish’s mum used to sms me that the little Danish never “sit” quietly when he was in his mum stomach. He liked to turn around and worst part he did on night day caused his mum could not sleep well but his mum never complaint. The patience, love and care were given to this little I really respected to my lovely. I believed all the mum have the same attitude (mother love) to their baby because they are your own blood.

911 is the date where terrorist attached US Twice Tower and this is my Danish said “Hello” to our world. However, the journey to this world is not easy as I think before Him release Danish. This guy took more than 12 hours to “report” and makes his papa and mama damn worried. He could not bear in nature method and needed to do operation. I ceased all my work and concentrated on them. I worried because this is my first baby. I could not sleep and eat well during that period and just remember my lovely and the baby.

I understand that my lovely was suffering after more than 12 hours. She was exhausted and pain when I looked at her. I very worried and I only can pray to Him and requested Him to safe my lovely and my little Danish. I could not afford to lose them because they are everything to me. I love them very much.

About 10.15pm on September 9. Finally, I am able to hear my little Danish “cry” from the operation room. I damn happy and excited but the nurse told me that she needed to rush to incubator room immediately because my baby lack of Oxygen. We rushed to the incubator room immediately. After placed Danish in the incubator, he was able to breathe in normal and the great action he did was smile to me. J He knows I am his papa.

After Danish in stable condition, I rush back to operation room to see my wife. About 11pm. Thanks God. My wife is safe. I could not believe that the “game” is over. I shook hand with the doctor and all the staff involved where they had did a great job. I really respected them. They are my angel.

The whole week I was with them. I visited them from morning until late evening. Took pamper for Danish and food for my wife. It was tired but when I looked at my wife and the baby, I forgot all the tiredness.

In incubator room, I saw many “unlucky” babies were located here because of their health problem. Some of them are thin and small. Pity to see them. But no to my little Danish. He is huge and his weight reach 3.5kg and this is the main reason he could not born in nature way. Last week, his weight increased to 5.5 after 3 months. So, what do you think of my Danish.

For those friends whose wife in pregnant period please spent more time with your lovely? They are brave to born the baby for you. Never ignore them. Moral support is important during that period. Temporary forget your duty and accompany her until you hear “wa….wa….wa”. You will cry.

Thus, my wife and Danish are my great achievement for the year 2006.

Most of us are in this rat circle and for the parents whom have children. We will always think of our daily income.

0 Born. Baby need to learn how to cry then they will be feed
10 Primary school. Child needs to study and show good result to parent. Parent will reward.
20 University. For those excellent in education. You should be in this stage. You duty is get your degree, master or PHD.
30 Plan for marriage, get baby and subsequently set a home for yourself

50 Health problem. Medical increasing annually
60 Suffer of income. Cease working

Do you like this type of life pattern? Definitely the answer is “No”. How we are going to escape from this circle.

Our education system never teaches us about how to generate money with smart method. Your teacher or your parent will ask you to become doctor, lawyer, accountant or others professional. None of them will teach us what is money? Why we need money? How to utilize money? How to generate income by money?

Government only teaches us how to save in Bank. Thus, we only have one direction. Keep money in saving account.

A lot of people especially in urban area are in debt situation.

The worst part is debt with loan shark. Pity incident have been happening recently. A Chinese couples murdered their 3 children before they suicide to end their life. After investigation by police, they found that they are in deep debt. Finally, the 3 innocent boys were killed due to their parent financial problem. Are this faith? Why these couples want to choose this option of their life? Think of your children before borrow money. Keep away from loan shark and live in simple life. I believe if we work hard and sincere, Him will guide you.

When I was in estate, I noticed that most the family in estate life in simple life. They do not have debt because everything is provided. They just need to work and earn money. Some of them are able to invest in land property. How much their salary per month? I can sincerely tell you than only less than RM2,000 per month for a tapper.

The secret is how you budget for your life. Plan to rich, no plan to fail. You do not need to become a businessman to be rich. Learn how to save and invest. This is a simple road to rich direction.

Take care of your friend

One of my niece asked me on last weekend.

Kak : "Uncle ...uncle, I don't want play with Am?".

Uncle Lai: "Why? Kak"

Kak : "Am don't want to play with me."

Hence, uncle lai went and catched the naughty Am. He attempted to run and he could not escape from his uncle.

Uncle Lai : "Am, why you do not want play with Kak?"

Am : "I do not want play with girl."

Uncle Lai : "You naughty boy. You better treat all your pal as your friend. Others wise you will lonely because you like to bully people"

Am : "Ei..mouse on top of toad"

Uncle Lai : "Am, you see. There are two difference speciel but still can help each other. But you..."

Am : "Sorry uncle. I will treat all my pal as the toad do on the mouse. Bye"

The little Am and Kak run from me and play together again.

The above photo show that friendship is very important. Toad and mouse also can help each other when there is a disaster. How about us? Even between relative, we also fighting each others. Thus, hei human. Please think and follow the above animal attitude without consider about the race, culture and religious. We grow with our friend. We share problem, sadness and happiness with friend.Thus, appreciate your surrouding friend and do not follow my naughty niece-Am.

Appreciate our River

I just reach at Malacca on last weekend. This is my second Department Irrigation and Drainage (DID) project during the year. First was the Kuching City, Sawarak and now for Balakong, Selangor. However, this is no a survey article. Here I would like to share with you the experience when I did the survey on this “dirty” river. In fact, I feel shameful of our Malaysian attitude towards to our river. None of us appreciate this nature.

I was appointed to survey this 4 km river around Balakong area at Selangor. As a surveyor, we can not escape from this kind of duty. We need to go down into the river but this time the river quality is too dirty and force me to write this article.

When I reach at the site and look at the river. Wah ! Dark yellowish color. My long pant sure be “polluted” and very hardly can find a fish in this river. The worst part is I personally see by naked eye, all the residents treat the river as “rubbish bin”. Some are more “educated”, they packed in plastic before throw. Others just simply throw the dirt or rubbish as they like. Damn dirty because I am the victim down there can feel the smell but I do not have others option rather than just allow the rubbish pass through me. My whole body is surrounded by uncomfortable smell, even to my car….No choice, just observe and carry out my duty as surveyor. Poor guy L

A flood is a normal incident after heavy downpour at urban area in Malaysia. A lot of property being damaged and it recall me at Sawarak. The flight also delay due to this disaster because air port full of water. Haha…

People use to point finger to Government if there is a flood occur. DID spent plenty money on this matter but it never be resolved if we do not educate our people. See at our neighbor-Singapore. A compound will be fined on you if you simply throw rubbish.

We must change our Malaysian attitude. By using this huge amount to others sector, I believe our nation will grow more steady and attach more investor to Malaysia. Education on this matter should be considered by our government, start with the explosion to young generation that loves our river. River is a free gift from HIM, appreciate the nature of river before we regret in one day.

How to handle Data Management

How to manage your data and document in systematic and cost effectiveness? Normally we always ignore this simple data management and simply file our document. We would not see the problem until after a few months or a few years. We can not locate the file and it happen to me on last Thursday.

One of my clients was looking for a details plan for his drainage design. The survey was done by my company on year 1999. Luckily the customer has the reference drawing number where enable me to do the search in the office. But when I found the file, no documents are found.

This is a poor data management system and today there is an article write about how an effectiveness assistant or clerk can assist their boss in data management.

We do not need to invest for buying an expensive software or hardware. This data management is cheap and everybody is able to handle. This data management is using color paper to differential the type of documents. Below are some of the examples:-

• Blue for Plan
• Yellow for internal document
• Red for external document
• Oren for calculation
• Green for work progress, payment and etc.

There are many color paper you can use. By looking at the color, everybody can look for the document requested. Do it now if you have not started because time is money. Do not waste your time in searching document as it happened to me.

This is a simple and effectiveness system to run your business.

Sorry for the late reply. My boss went for oversee conference and I had to handle most of the land matter cases and unable to reply your mail until today. Firstly, I very appreciate your quality comments. I really agree with your view regarding “A right person with right attitude is so important instead of academic preference”.

6 and half years in KLK, I learn a lot from this giant company. I monitor how a manager re-act when a problem occur either in Kekayaan or Kerling. Most of them have their strength when handling problem but with difference dimension; Mr. Tan Han Chi, Mr Sin, Mr. Chelvanathan and the last is Mr. Lingam. But I noticed that senior manager management is more to human management rather than technical unless you do not know and they will guild you.

I try to relate your comment on “no brain”. Most of the executives employed by Taiko are holding a diploma or degree but most of us do not have agricultural background. To me as a surveyor, I need to learn from zero. I still remember my first task in kekayaan was control rat population problem at PM1998/418 before they assigned me on SuperHigh Project. None of my colleague guild me and I blindly went down to field and learn how to do rat bait. Many of staff and workers laughed at me. Tuan with “Long pant and a big hat”. I did not care because I had my objective why I joined plantation. I needed to work to support my parent and my sibling still schooling at that moment. Hence, I forced myself to enjoy the plantation work and I think my performance was not bad which I have contributed to these 2 operating centers.

I still remember my neighbor operating center in kekayaan, the manager used to scold my Malay friend in front of workers without closing the office door. I used to discuss this matter to my second senior manager and he also disagreed with this manager behavior. Respect is important even though there is a range between manager and executive or to worker. I still remember (OD) Mr. Lim Hong Joong when he visited the SuperHighway in year 1999. I was appointed to follow OD, Mr Lim and GM, Mr. Chandran because I was the executive whom did survey work from Kekayaan to Landak. The GM wanted to “bully” me on survey matter (Perhaps I just newly join). But, Mr. Lim disagreed with the GM and listened to a surveyor view how to solve the matter. I think there should be a leader attitude towards success.

It happened to most of the executives in KLK and they called it “pressure”. I was lucky because worked for 61/2 years. None of my manager scolded me. My friend used to tell me I always have “Good” manager. Let me tell my friend story to you, when they were scold. They will ignore the problem or just obey the instruction. This is not a win-win situation and both parties were in losing situation. The operating center can not run in smooth condition because estate working environment needs teamwork. Everybody has their duty and responsible. I used to tell my staff that respect worker before you earn the respect.

Hence, I would like to summarize that all the executives have brilliant brain. The trick is how to utilize their brain to work for you. There will another topic to be discussed.

Leadership is vast topic if we want to discuss. We need to great leader to lead but most of the executives are follower and fear to fail because top management does not like fail. Thus, everyone become “Yes Group”. I think I should cease talking nonsense.

Internet income is an unreliable income but difficult to accept by Malaysian including my parent whom run a business more than 30 ++ years. The business in their mind must have physical warehouse, goods, workers, vehicles and etc. There is a conventional method of business. However, the concept of business should change with the global changes.

How I find the “Adsense Program”? I should take this opportunity to thanks to my lovely wife whom subscribes a religion magazine on behalf on me a year ago. Initial I subscribe the magazine to fulfill her because she knows that I am a person whom never believes of God. I never touch the magazine but my wife will ensure I read the article magazine. Religion magazine is damn boring and there is in my mindset initially. I just roughly go through and finally I found the written content is knowledgeable until couple a months ago, they published the “Adsense Program” which I never heard before. Perhaps I seldom surf the net. Thus, I told my wife regarding the program. But she laughs at me and asks me better concentrate on my professional survey. The following months, appeal again the “Adsense Program” in the magazine. I quietly surf the website and check what is the powerful of this program. Its sounds interesting when the website mention by using blog, you can generate passive income. In my mind, there is no harm to try and it free.

The http://ilmunidham.blogspot.com is created mainly want to venture in internet world which I believe it is a powerful leverage that I need to fully utilize. I start post article but with good content and realize that it is fun. Perhaps I just a beginner and still can not see the handsome income from Google.

I wake up early in the morning on this Sunday before 6 am because I feel sorry if I don’t write this article to one of the blogger’s friend, Carol. Even through I just meet you by net but I feel happy if this information can assist you in your lever problem.

According to New Penguin English Dictionary, liver is define as a large vascular glandular organ of vertebrates that secrets bile and causes changes in the blood, e.g. by converting blood sugar into glycogen.

Damage of liver is a normal disease especially in Asian and perhaps in this world because of daily polluted food we take and it happens to my uncles also. Nowadays, farmers are using all sorts of chemicals (herbicide and pesticide) to boost the product and the victim is us if we do not know how to handle of cleaning this toxic. We can’t see this toxic by naked eye and we are happy to see this fruit in fresh condition without any attach from insect. In fact the fruit is sprayed with chemical to avoid the pest attach. Good for fruit but no to human. Thus, our body is full of toxic which we are no alert. There are many methods to clean up from our body but involve of money.

Couple days ago, I read an article regarding walk to prolong our life in a paper. It is a part of basic exercise which people intend to forgive the benefit of walking. People are buying thousand of dollar tools for exercise but still end with disease. I noticed that most of the people do not like to walk and refer use a vehicle to move around which is bad to our health. Look at our grandfather generation, they are healthy even until senior age because they walk and work. No computer, no TV and their life are simple.

Here I would like to code one of my former foremen when I was a planter. I used to call him, Veerasamy and this year he should be 74 years old. He born on year 1930++ but he still fit to work. No, I should say he like to work because by working he can walk around and make his time fully occupy. I respect this senior Indian foreman. He is a simple and likes to share his view if you need him. He likes to walk and you hardly can see him sit at the house. He used to joke with me and say. “Tuan, our body similar to this tractor engine. If you don’t start regularly and subsequently it will condemn by itself.” I just laugh at that moment. But today I realize Veerasamy is correct. We need to look after our body before we regret.

In Chinese massage treatment; they claimed that our foot has inter-connected with all the organs in our body. Yoga practice also involved of our foot and doctor always encourage us to walk. Hence, I believe the creator is fair to us where He provide us 2 legs and He wants his follower to walk. Come, Carol. Follow me and WALK.

Powerful Management Skill-20/80 concept

There was end of the year 2003 where I just promoted as senior assistant manager and HQ had made a cross changes between the managers among the operating centers. He was posted to Kerling estate as Acting Manager and I still can remember the first day, he had emphasized on 20/80 concept to all the staff because he noticed that this operating centre was not well managed. But none of us understood what message he wanted to channel to us. Everybody just knotted their head and pretend understood including me.

What is 20/80 concept? Basically, the concept is simple and I used 2 easy examples as below:-

1. Use 20% our time to gain 80% information (just like all the internet users use internet to look for information without going out)

2. Use 20% effort to gain 80% result or objective.

Talk is easy but how to apply to our management environment? There was my big question mark appeal in my mind when I was a planter. If you are planter or work in huge company, I think you will face the decision making problem. Everybody will consult with you for decision. Planter is the worst. Even the worker family problem you need to solve also. We don’t have a personal time for our self unless you take the vacation and forget the estate life. But you still can’t escape, once you back to estate. Similar problem will appear. Everybody is depending on you. There why people used to say planter is the king of estate.

Ok. Let me continue what is 20/80 concept. I found the answer from Chinese paper on yesterday 15 November 2006. The article emphasize why a lot of top management fail in their management team and these group do not realize that workers are main asset to hit the objective (profit). Here they related the 20% is the manager or leader and the others 80% is workers. So, you are the 20% and are the vital part in your company. But how are you going to tackle your workers? Buy them lunch?

The article had advised the management to avoid by making decision by said there 2 phases
1. ‘Yes’ or ‘No’,
2. ‘Right’ or ‘Wrong’.

This is not a primary school where you can’t say you are right or you are wrong. Thus, as a responsible leader, you need to ensure you have good reason to support your decision before people queering you.


Below is my case study on handling decision.

Handling problematic worker

Ø Most of the oil palm or rubber plantations are facing labor shortage and recruitment from foreign country is normal to a planter. Similar to me when I was in Kerling Estate, I was short of rubber tapper during that period and HQ had sent a batch of foreign Indian workers to my operating centre. I need to train them before they were able to tap and this was a normal producer in my management team. Wages will be low compare with tapper. However, this batch of foreign Indian was cheated by their agent because the agent claimed that they will earn high income when in Malaysia. The worst part was the agent said that they will be working in air-condition factory and when they reach at estate, they just realized they are cheated. We were pity of them.
Ø Most of them do not want to work at estate environment but I as a leader I need to change their mindset of estate environment. I need to make fast decision to keep them. For them money is important because they spent plenty of money to come over and their family need money too. I went down to the ground and met this batch of workers and told them if they were willing to earn high income. I can provide them with a condition. Learn how to tap the rubber tree where the price was increasing everyday and I foresee it was an opportunity for them to earn good income in estate. Finally, they listened to me and started learning the skill of tapping. Before I left the estate, they were well paid with they effort and my farewell party also was organized by them.


This is a win-win situation for both parties. I was respected by the estate workers and this 20/80 concept should be shared among the young planter. Even through I had left the plantation, I think I still can contribute my knowledge and share with your all.

Disaster Tool

As a normal people, we would not want a disaster hitting our lives. However, we can not predict and avoid disaster. It is out of our control and it occurred to one of my blogger friend. She lost the job recently and I think it will be a big impact to her economic even though her husband is working.

This mummy does not stop as this but she starts with blogging and attempt to earn passive income though Adsense Program. I can say that she is a great woman because she knows how to survive during disaster period and this has been proven by Dr. Kamal Jit Singh article’s “Opportunity in Disaster”. Even though the income she earned just $0.60 but it is a good start rather than nothing.

For your information, Dr. Kamal is the CEO of British Telecom’s Asian Reseach Center and specialize in using innovation as a strategy for increasing competitiveness.

He coded a few well-know person whom survives from disaster and one of them I extract out is Thomas Watson Sr, IBM former president. He changed the entire life because of a disaster. Before Watson joins IBM, he is a sewing machines seller. However, the job does not last long. He was fined by his boss due to a bad incident to him. His entire sample had been stolen due to his careless. This disaster forced him to move on and eventually he landed at IBM where he oversaw the company’s growth into an international force. Is it a great impact of the disaster tool?

Say No To Tuition

“Tips Peperiksaan Malaysia” a website created by Andrew Choo. What is going on to our education system? Why we need tips or tuition for exam? Is it our school teacher is not efficient enough as those day or they take an opportunity to create a business for them. As a parent, are we going to see this scenario to carry on or we need to take action on it.

How many of our children do not take tuition? I believe very rare. Most of the parents especially in urban area will ensure their children go to tuition. It is a part of their life. If you don’t send your children to tuition, people will point finger to you and blame you are no a good parent. What happen to us? Tuition, tuition, tuition.

When I was in primary school, my mum sent me to tuition. I can honestly tell you. Children do not like this boring “TUITION”. I represent the whole world’s children and tell you all parents. “We hate tuition”.

Why we need tuition or tips? In tuition, are we going to learn something special from syllabus? No. It is a repeating subject. I can tell you, smart children do not like repeating program. Boring! I not condemn tuition but it waste the children time to rest and perhaps by taking tuition time, they can learn others benefits program.

Dear parents and my new generation, focus is important during class period and post question if you don’t understand. Don’t be shy if you want to success. Teacher is well paid so you can ask many questions as you like. No people can blame you. Teacher also needs to create an environment so that every student can absorb what you are teaching. Treat the student as your baby and I don’t think you will spoil them. Educate them properly because they are our future.

Title as “Say No Tuition” because I realize that we study in school or university no to score “A” or get first class in university. Information and knowledge are important tools to gain before we go to real world. Look around this world, how many rich business men have great education. Bill Gates no even has degree and he is a smart guy. He looks for opportunity-information.
